Assistant Contract Manager
Salary £35,991 – £38,994 — Based in Romford — 35h per week
About the role
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Assistant Contract Manager. You will be supporting the team in overseeing ELWA’s long term waste disposal contract, engaging with the Operator and our Constituent Council partners to ensure that key performance indicators are met while continuous improvement is achieved.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation with ambitions to take a lead on Local Authority waste management and environmental practice.
You will need contract monitoring and budgetary control expertise, and an understanding of Local Government working. Strong communication skills with experience of corresponding with a range of stakeholders and managing complaints in a sensitive and diplomatic nature is essential to this role. This should ideally be in the field of wastes management or be transferable to this area.
The East London Waste Authority (ELWA) is responsible for the treatment and disposal of waste collected by the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge. We consider waste as a resource and have invested in infrastructure to deliver our ultimate ambition of zero waste to landfill.
