Re-opening of RRCs – 11 May 2020
The Chigwell Road Reuse and Recycling Centre is re-opening from Monday 11 May 2020. Before visiting, please make sure you have read the information below, with more detailed information available on this page.
You will only be able to access the RRC from the southbound direction off Chigwell Road (A113). If approaching from the other direction, you will need to turn around in a safe location and join the back of the queue. Please see ‘Site Access Map’ below for details.
The site will be open for normal hours. There are likely to be long queues, so you should arrive well before closing time.
Please only visit an RRC if the trip is essential, and you cannot store the waste at home or have it collected
Do not visit an RRC if you are showing symptoms of Covid-19 or are self-isolating
Bring a recent Council Tax statement or your driving licence (registered to an address in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham or Redbridge) as proof of residence
Social distancing measures will be in effect at the RRCs. Please keep your distance from all other visitors and site staff
Assistance to unload vehicles will not be available, so please bring someone with you to help if you require it
No more than 2 people may get out of each vehicle, and children must remain inside vehicles at all times
Wear gloves, bring hand sanitiser, avoid touching your face, and wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds as soon as you get home
Large vans, trailers and commercial waste are not being accepted at this time
Please make sure you arrive well before these closing times as there may be long queues.
