Eco Friendly Wrap
Our countdown to Christmas continues with our guide to eco friendly wrapping.
Did you know glittery and plastic wrapping paper cannot be recycled? With that in mind we felt it right to share some alternative ideas with you.
Not sure if the wrapping paper on a received prezzie is plastic or not? Try the scrunch test. If the paper stays scrunched it’s good to recycle, if not you’ll need to pop it into your general waste bin.
Check out our guide on how you to wrap the right way this year.
Our leaf wrap is totally simple to create yourself.
All you need is a large leaf and some string. We’ve reused an old shoelace!
Simply wrap your leaf around the gift and secure using your string.
Roll and curl the end of the leaf into any style you like and pop the end back through the string to hold in place.
We really didn’t want any wastage so we’ve reused the stem too!
We love this look and what’s great is once the prezzie has been opened the waste can go into your home compost bin or garden waste!
Present in a Jar
Some presents are notoriously hard to wrap so why not reuse an old jar. This idea couldn’t be simpler.
Clean out an old glass jar. Pop some tissue paper inside (old newspaper would look great too!).
Pop your present inside. Place the lid back on and cover with some more tissue paper.
Secure with string and VOILA your gift if ready.
What’s great is all the items can be reused.
Hold onto the string and tissue wrap for another day and pop a candle into the jar.
A great #zerowaste way to wrap!
We may have saved the best till last.
Our FabWrap is a great way of using old fabric. This waste free wrap requires no tape and all parts can be saved and reused another day.
Simply wrap your prezzie bringing all the material to the top. Fold at the sides to keep it neat.
Use your string and tie all the excess fabric at the top. Tie into a bow and there you have it.
A fun but supper quick way of eco wrapping!
