Before visiting, please make sure you have read the information below. There may be long queues, so you should arrive well before closing time.

Bring a recent Council Tax statement or your driving licence (registered to an address in Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham or Redbridge) as proof of residence
Assistance to unload vehicles may not be available, so please bring someone with you to help if you require it
Children and animals must remain inside vehicles at all times
—
Please note that we are now able to accept larger vans and twin axle trailers carrying Household Waste at the Jenkins Lane and Frizlands Lane RRCs only. Light commercial-type vehicles (under 3,500kg maximum permissible mass) and single axle trailers are permitted at the Chigwell Road and Gerpins Lane RRCs if they are carrying household waste, or restricted household waste with authorisation from the resident’s Local Authority. If driving a van, you are asked to bring the vehicle’s V5C logbook to prove it is below this weight threshold and may be re-directed to the Jenkins Lane site if this is not the case.
If visiting the site on foot or using a bicycle, a bin is available near the main site entrance to save you having to travel through the site to the RRC. Any recyclable items deposited in this bin will be placed in the appropriate container by site staff. If using a cargo bike, please proceed to the RRC.
Any upholstered furniture dismantled, torn off or cut up MUST be double-bagged. These bags, along with damaged upholstered furniture must be put into the special area marked with the ‘Upholstered Furniture’ symbol. Find out more.
No Luton vans, flat bed vehicles, vans with tail lifts or tippers of any size are permitted to access any site at this time.
All vehicles remain subject to checks for proof of address within the ELWA region and for restricted/commercial waste.
Please be aware that the Jenkins Lane RRC is busiest between 12pm and 1pm on weekdays, so please avoid visiting at that time if possible.
If a queue will prevent you accessing before the site’s closing time, you will be advised to use an alternative site or try again another day.

Please press play below to see a live view of the approach road to the Jenkins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre. If you see vehicles queuing towards the camera, you may wish to delay your visit to another time or use one of the other RRCs.
You must bring proof of identity when you visit a Reuse and Recycling Centre – either a driving license with current address or your current council tax bill (e-bills shown on an electronic device are acceptable). If you do not bring valid proof of identification, charges may apply.
All residents living in the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge are entitled to use any of the four Reuse and Recycling Centres in the East London Waste Authority to dispose of household waste. Please use the Reuse and Recycling Centre within your borough to dispose of restricted waste (any waste generated through renovation or DIY works), having sought authorisation from the council first.
Charges will apply for all commercial waste.
